General Manager's Message
Dayne Bulloch

Kia Ora Kotou,

Thank you for all those who have come in an introduced themselves to me and made me feel welcome in the first week of my role.  I am sure I am not saying anything that members don’t already know, but you have a very special place to call your golfing home.  It is also a very exciting time to come on board with the future projects of the clubhouse and course development occurring.  Marcus, the Board, and the team that Marcus has put together are a great group of people and I look forward to working with them.

The 12th white tee has been moved forward due to a couple of reasons.  There have been an increasing number of ball strike incidents to properties next to the 12th as well as some near misses to people in those properties.  In the golf course master plan, the white tee on the 12th is going to moved up to around this area, so members are getting a sneak peak of how the 12th teeing area will play.

Golf has been on the uptick over the last few years and there seems to be no slowing down in site.  Overall, in New Zealand golf rounds are up 15.8% and the Bay of Plenty region is up on the New Zealand numbers running at 19% increase on rounds compared to last year.  For our club we have seen an increase of 34.3% on the same time last year!  Omokoroa is now becoming the place to play in the Bay.  It is also great to see that people are using us a community hub.  Earlier this week Raewyn and Linley from Barfoot and Thompson hosted a Pink Ribbon breakfast at the club for 70 people and it proved to be a very popular spot.

Enjoy your golf out there this week.

Captains Corner
Daryl Muir

Thank you to Marcus for his work during his time with the Club.  We are certainly better off for his efforts and organisation.  We wish you well with your future endeavours.

On behalf of myself and the Group Captains, welcome to Dayne, we look forward to working with you as you ease into your new role.

Remember that the Friday Haggle on the 1st November will also have the Mexted and Jack Turner Trophies up for grabs.  I would love to see a large field for this event, both men and ladies.  It is a drawn partners and also single stableford format.

The cost for the day will be $10.  This includes the normal Friday haggle which will run as normal.  Put it in your diary, I would love to see a strong field for this day.

Also coming up is the Kaimai Tray Interclub, Mens and Ladies.  There is no limits on the size of the field.  It is on Sunday 17th November at Omokoroa with an 8.30 am start.  Entry sheets are in the locker rooms.  It would be great to see the Trophy back in our cabinet.  It is a stableford format.  All members welcome.

Tickets are now available in the office for the Rock’n’roll evening on Saturday 30th November.  This includes dinner and show.  There are limited tickets so please be in quick.  It will be another great evening. It is also the first fundraiser for the Club house renovation fund.  Members, friends and family all welcome.  Cost is $55.00 per person.

Finally thanks to the marshals for their efforts with their first week of operation.  Thank you to the members and visitors for their great feedback.

9 Hole Ladies
Yvonne Hoskins

Wow what a fantastic day we had for our golf yesterday.  The sun shone, the wind was absent and I'm sure all our ladies enjoyed their golf.

We played the last round of our Shootout qualifying competition and had a stableford haggle.  Our Shootout final will be played in two weeks time.

The stableford haggle was won by Dianna O'Brien with a whopping 24 stableford points, followed by Jacqui Crossfield and Molly Dean with 21.  All with 20 points were - Mara Mayo, Daisy Harrison, Pauline Thurston and Janet Burmeister.  Good golfing girls......

Next week our ladies are joining the nine hole men in a mixed Ambrose tournament.

Presidents Message
John 'Swampy' Marsh

President’s Report

I’m pleased to announce that Swampy’s Sleepout is now complete.

Work on the No. 7 cart path has commenced, with levelling and boxing underway. It's also great to see the drains being cleared—thank you to those involved.

Our firewood sales are thriving, with more trees down recently. Make sure to put in your orders with Colin Gee!

A big shout out to Omokoroa Transport for their clay and soil deliveries, now stored for future projects. Your contributions are greatly appreciated.

We'd also like to acknowledge Barfoot and Thompson for their brilliant Breast Cancer awareness fundraiser held on Wednesday morning. It was a great success!

A special congratulations goes out to Carol and Graeme Davis, who recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary—an incredible milestone. Our heartiest congratulations to you both.

Finally, let’s celebrate Fynn Campbell for coming 1st in the Stableford Taupo Junior Masters (Under 13 Boys). Awesome achievement, Fynn! We are fortunate to have an increasing number of juniors competing in their own competitions.

It was also wonderful to bid farewell to Marcus and extend a warm welcome to Dayne. The farewell event was a fantastic night, with Matt the barman showcasing his music and karaoke talents, creating a relaxing and musical evening for everyone. A huge thank you to Marcus for his professional contributions over his three-year tenure, and best of luck to Dayne in his new role. We trust our members will offer their support and advice when needed.
